What is ironic about the discussion of the traditional or ritualistic activities surruond the lottery? What point do you think Jackson may be trying to make?

The story that surround the lottery is really  ironic because the people in this village see this event " The Lottery" like something really relevant for their Lives. It looks like the best and most important tradition in this village even when much of its ritual had been fogotten.

Jackson wants to show that people  dont open their mind in order to improve their lifestyle. It means  we don"t want to change some traditions which dont have any meaning in Life. We keep stuck in specific activities just because we have been doing them for many years.

We shouldn"t feel afraid of  change in our lives, even if the results are not positives.
Experience is what you  get when you didn"t get what you wanted, and it is going to let us to continue changing until getting what you really want to!

"Samuel Butler Quote"

Belief is a complex issue, but when we see people in droves follow something, we behave like them and of course follow  them because it is the easiest way. We are pretty sure about we want and wish in Life; however, sometimes we get carried away by bad people, and people who keep us away from our goals.

The important thing is to follow our own thought and belief in order to reach our goals.Obviously, we can follow people as long as they are acting in accordance what we want to get in Life.

The aspects which open to interpretation are What happend with The people who were looking for their family? Did they die? Did they get their happiness? What was the role played by the priest in the movie? What was the role of religion in the movie? In what way did the director want to assault the viewer"s emotional senses?

The ending was happy because they found their family and stayed with them. At the end they looked so happy. Even thought they died, they got the happiness in their own way. It was more than enough...
